Drop-in Class

Drop-in Class

A commitment-free introduction to clay for adults!

Want to experience the magic of clay without committing to a full course cycle? Looking for a creative outing, or hoping to get a feel for our studio before enrolling?

Our Drop-in Class is an energetic, condensed, one-time experience designed to introduce you to the art of handbuilding ceramics and help you craft your very own ceramic piece!

What to expect in a Single Class:

  • Handbuilding Technique: We work exclusively with our hands and minimal tools (no potter's wheel included). It is the most direct, approachable, and intuitive way to connect with clay!
  • Creative & Dynamic Pace: Unlike our multi-week cycles, we condense the process here! The session has a steady flow, active guidance, and clear focus so you can achieve a completed piece within the allotted time.
  • Your Project: You will craft a small-to-medium functional object (such as a mug, small bowl, or dish), focusing on core form and structure.
  • Clean & Beautiful Decoration: Time permitting, you'll finish your creation with quick decorative techniques (such as creative speckling techniques or sponge coloring) that add a unique character to the clay.
  • Duration Options & Pricing:

Choose between a 2-hour or 2.5-hour class based on the time you'd like to spend.

Turnaround Time & Storage

Ceramic pieces must dry slowly in a moisture-controlled environment to ensure even shrinkage and prevent cracks. This is followed by the first firing (bisque), glazing, and the second final firing.

  • Completion Time: 4 to 6 weeks after your construction phase is completed (provided the kiln reaches full capacity).
  • Notification & Storage: You will receive a notification as soon as your creations are ready. Due to limited space, finished items are stored for up to 20 days after notification.
  • The Nature of Clay: Ceramics carries an element of unpredictability. Despite meticulous care, cracking or breaking during shrinkage and firings can occasionally occur.
